The Color Run is a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which thousands of participants, or “Color Runners”, are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer. With only two rules, the idea is easy to follow: wear white at the starting line and finish plastered in color. The fun continues after Color Runners complete the race with a Finish Festival which is equipped with music, dancing and massive color throws creating millions of vivid color combinations.
The Color Run was founded in 2011 and is an event to promote human healthiness and happiness by bringing the community together to participate in the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”. It is the original paint race and a completely new genre of running events. It is an event for all fitness levels, ages and backgrounds. Color Runners vary in demographics and reasons for running. With no winners or official times, The Color Run caters to everyone –first time runners to seasoned athletes.
Additionally, in 2015, Color Runners around the world will experience the all-new Shine Tour which introduces a new element of glittery race attractions. The 2015 Shine Tour is designed to uplift and inspire runners to stand out from the crowd, sweat sparkles, and continue to live their lives in a happy and healthy way. Participants will receive a limited edition Shine Tour Participant Kit including a custom 2015 tee, gold finishers medal, tricolor headband with blingin’ silver stitching, special edition SHINE pack, classic color pack, new gold foil tattoos and more!
The Color Run is now also offering a night race. Glowtastic color zones, illuminating bubble zones, sweet photo opps, glowing color shows and bumping music will give runners an experience to remember forever. All participants receive a limited edition Night Race kit, including: glowing tee, black light headlamp, and one of a kind glow color packet to help you get your glow on!
As a for-profit event management company, The Color Run partners with various charities to help shine a light on their amazing work within society and highlight the causes they stand for. They have raised donations for more than 80 local and national charities since 2012, and, to date, The Color Run has donated more than $4 million to charity.
